From the design and manufacture of the most state-of-the-art products in the business, to their delivery into our multi-million pound Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs) across the globe, our bespoke electrical and mechanical development projects are pushing the boundaries of innovation and automation. Within the Automation Product Development department sits the Projects function, which is responsible for the design, testing and manufacture of our automated products (with a catalogue of around 500 products and counting!). Our Projects team is now looking for a talented engineer to join their growing team, who will be taking responsibility for helping us to deliver our projects on time. How you’ll spend your days… As part of the power systems team you will be developing batteries and other power systems products for the Ocado Smart Platform robots Working with internal and external stakeholders to understand, specify, develop and test the battery system needed for Ocado’s robots Using big data analysis to monitor battery system performance across all our CFC’s and identifying areas of product improvement Working with our software teams to define and implement cutting edge battery monitoring, diagnostic and safety system strategies into our battery products Attending conferences and exhibitions to identify industry trends and next in class technologies Managing projects to demonstrate new battery technologies and how they benefit Ocado We’re passionate about people with… An Engineering or science based qualification (HND or Degree level) Some experience managing technical projects in a relevant field is preferable Technical understanding of batteries and other power systems related hardware A passion for developing great products which can be manufactured at scale What we can offer you… Our employee benefits are designed for you, we care about people and we’ve ensured we have a wealth of benefits that focus on our your well-being.
